Hello,
My name is Miani Burton and I am a multi-sport (softball/volleyball) Senior at Saks High School located in Anniston, AL. In college I plan on majoring in Sport Management with a minor in business. This statement is to express my interest, dedication, and passion to play softball at the next level. Playing softball has offered me so many opportunities to travel and meet new people throughout several states. I have had the opportunity to connect with great coaches and players over the last few years and have enjoyed all the friendships I've made. Continuing to practice each day and bettering skills is my way of helping myself get one step closer to college softball. I can never stop practicing and getting better by working only on scheduled days, it has to be a part of my daily life to make it to the next level. My ultimate goal is to play softball at any level just as long as I can touch the field with teammates that love the game as much as I do. My dad was a great ball player and is very passionate about the game and I want to have that same feeling while I can play. Making the grades in school is the priority and I take that very seriously. I understand that academics make a player and I strive to achieve above-average grades. In my first year of high school, I decided to challenge myself by deciding to take an honors English class to better my understanding of communication which works both on and off the field. I am now in my third semester of taking a Dual Enrollment course in History at Jacksonville State University. I was always told by my dad that believing in yourself first is the biggest step in achieving your dreams. This is the reason why I love softball because it's not an easy game and it's not for the girly girls. It’s a mental, detailed, and physical game that requires time and focus.
Thank You!
Miani Burton
