Personal Statement

My name is Amari Jones. My dream is to go to college and play softball to the best of my ability. I want to be on the field with a team that is playing to win and giving their all. I am choosing between being an athletic trainer or a physical therapist. I think I would be a great fit that offers me the chance, because no matter where I am I will always do my best and be a team player.  I love supporting my team mates on and off the field. I practice almost every day to try and get better, because I feel as if I can always get better. I love just practicing and making my self better and becoming more determined. I consider my self the average athlete, but my coaches always encourage me and tell me that I am better than what I think. I always smile and and try not to show my emotions after I have made mistakes, but  I always will come back and try even harder and learn from that mistake. My grades in school are important to me also. My parents have taught me this and told me that athletics are great but my grades are greater and with those two together, I can make it in this world. I have had the highest average in each class my 7th grade school year and I always strive to stay on the honor roll.  I can't wait to hopefully be on some one's college field one day playing the sport that I love. I come from a very small town and I want to be able to show that small town people can fulfill big city dreams.

What make me different from other recruits is that, I want a lot more out of life. I have dealt with being bullied because people think that I am different and I get portrayed as something that I am not, so this makes me work even harder and keep focusing on my dreams. I will always focus on my education and be able to balance my athletic and academic endeavors.
