When I'm on the field, everything outside of the game melts away. All of my energy, training, and practice go into every play. I put in 100% effort until the very last play of the last inning. I started playing softball in the fifth grade. My love and passion for the sport has grown stronger ever since. After my very first season, I was moved up from outfield to third base. My strong arm and quick reflexes have been an asset to every team I I have played on.
Coaches and teammates will tell you that I'm always the positive one on the team. I refuse to allow my teammates to get discouraged during games. No matter where I 'm playing, my team is my family: I will do everything in my power to better them as a whole, as well as myself individually. My goal in college athletically is not only to continue playing the sport I love, but to to grow as an athlete and as a person.
I know my strengths, but I am very coachable. If a coach points out something I need to correct, I listen and I work on it. When it comes to academics, I put in the same amount of determination as I do on the field. I have a passion for English and literature studies, as well as classical/ musical arts. I am an athlete, but I am also an artist and musician. These other pursuits have actually helped me improve on the field, as they allow me to open my mindset, push beyond my comfort zone, and inch closer to my true potential. My studies taught me the meaning of focus and dedication. And while it's not always easy, I manage my time effectively balancing the demands of school, work, and my commitment to the game.
