Although I have not been playing softball as long as my other teammates, that has not caused me to be less motivated or love the sport any less. After playing baseball since I was 6, I was forced to switch to softball in highschool. I remember being so nervous at tryouts until I realized I could do it. Not too much was different and I fell in love with the sport immediately. Ever since that day, my goal has been to play the sport I love as best as I can to the best of my ability and for as long as I can.
Softball had come into my life at a very hard time. My parents began getting a divorce through my highschool years and are still in the process of divorce. The only way I was able to escape from home and personal life was through softball. For this event I am ever grateful to the sport since it has allowed me time to myself and better myself rather than being consumed by the unfortunate events occurring in my life. During dark times, softball and my teammates led me to happiness. Succeeding in the sport brings me feelings of importance, therefore whenever I have free time I do what I can to improve myself whether that be hitting off the tee at home or throwing a ball into the wall. I would love nothing more than to be able to continue playing the sport and bettering myself in everyway through college softball.
Thank you for kindly reading my personal statement about my relationship with softball
