Personal Statement

Since I was a little girl I've always had my goals set on going to college. Now, that I play softball it makes me drive more in pursuit of my dream in taking an athletic route to college. I want to play college softball because the game keeps me active and on the right track with school. Other reasons are, softball runs in my family and I just love the game. If I can play the game as long as I can, I will.

I believe my teammates would describe me as very competitive, intense, a vocal leader on and off the field, and a team player.  They would describe me as competitive because I dislike losing and I try my best to beat the best. My competitiveness runs in my family and at times it can get overwhelming but a challenge I enjoy. I am very serious about the game, I will drop everything to go and practice whenever I can. As a catcher your are supposed to be one of the vocal leaders on the field, as I have gotten older I have seen from other perspectives why it is important TO BE VOCAL. Since a catcher has the best view of the field, we have to be yelling where to go when a ball is hit. Being a team player is a lot about being selfless and giving yourself up for the team needs in any situation. I want to do the right things for my teammates.

In the past I have had coaches that taught me to be physically and mentally strong, I would like to find the type of coach that continues to make me stronger in both. Mainly mentally stronger, because on or off the field this is something that will help me grow as a person.  One of the reasons, I find so much value in mental strength over physical is that mental strength will help me with real-life situations and overcome physical challenges.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
