Hello, my name is Sara Hartwick; I am a junior at Casa Roble Fundamental High School in Orangevale, California. I plan to major in education with a minor in early childhood education. My goal is to play softball at the college level and am interested in any division level as my main desire is to be on the field with a team. Softball has provided me with amazing opportunities to learn not only the sport but also gain confidence and become a team player. As a younger athlete, I was involved in many sports, but softball rose to the top of the list and is where I feel at home. Starting in 2020 I joined travel softball and made the varsity high school team as a freshman. I have been involved in many community service activities since I was 5 years old through Girl Scouts, and then my local community park and recreation activities as giving back and working with children is a passion of mine. Throughout High School, I have maintained a GPA above 3.5 with my accumulative GPA climbing to 3.8 this last block. Starting in January I will be enrolled in both an AP science course and a dual-enrollment foreign language course to challenge myself academically. Softball is the most challenging sport I have been involved in as it involves physical, mental, and emotional skills to truly play well. While it is the most challenging it is also the sport that brings me the most joy and I can’t imagine my life without it.
