Personal Statement

Hello Coach! 

My name is Malia Iwai and I am in the Class of 2021. I am 5'2" 140lbs. I’m currently a Junior  attending Mira Mesa High School in San Diego, California. I am an outfielder/pitcher and also play first base and second base for my travel ball club (OC-Batbusters). 

I would like to attend a 4 year University while maintaining a balance between academics and athletics. I am currently undecided about my major, but I have a strong interest in the medical field. 

I have been splitting my time between the outfield, pitching, first base and second base as long as I have been playing softball since age 7. I also played basketball on my 7th-8th grade team. People say I’m shy and quite but once you get to know me you’ll understand that I am very intense on the field and has a great sense of humor.
