My name is Michaela Peters, I am 14 years old. I am currently in the 9th grade at Tehachapi High School in Tehacahpi, California.
I graduated from the 8th grade at Jacobsen Middle School in Tehachapi, CA on May 29, 2012 with a 4.33 GPA as well as a Presidential award for Academic Excellence. I graduated with an A in AP Science and Advanced Math - Algebra 1. I have made Honor Roll and Principal's Honor Roll consistently from at least the 3rd grade. I will attend Tehachapi High School this coming August. I plan to become involved in extra curricular activities in High School and am hoping to be accepted into AP classes my freshman year.
My ultimate goal, at this time, is to become a Dermatologist. I take great interest in skin care and preserving natural beauty, even when I'm playing or practicing! I enjoy sharing what I research on this topic with anyone that will listen! I realize that this is not going to be an easy road academically, but I am willing to work hard to achieve my goal.
My Softball Career:
I started playing softball in 2006, at the age of 8, for Tehachapi Little League. I played several positions, such as Catcher, Outfield, Short Stop and Second Base. I made it to All Stars in 2009 and 2010, through this league.
I participated, at the recommedation of Tehachapi Little League, in the AVGSA (Antelope Valley Girls Softball Association) Fall Ball program in 2008, 2009, 2010.
I left Tehachapi Little League for AVGSA in 2011 for Spring Ball, hoping to be more challenged, see more competition and learn more. I played in the 14u Division for AVGSA and made All Stars for the 2011 Summer season. I played mostly outfield for the Summer. My team made it to Regionals in San Diego. Our team also attended The CA State Games of America.
I went on to play Fall Softball for AVGSA (Antelope Valley Girls Softball Association). Our team placed 2nd in our division.
Towards the end of that season, I decided I wanted even more of a challenge so I tried out for a well respected organization, Stealth Adams, a Southern California travel team, based out of the Antelope Valley. I was accepted as an official team member of the 16u division in December of 2011.
The Stealth 16u season is in full swing. Our first official tournament as a team was June 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the J.O. Classic.
I practice weekly with my team, as well as the 18G team. I take weekly private batting lessons with one of my 16u coaches, Chris Farrell, as well as weekly semi-private catching lessons with the 18G Stealth Adams coach, Dolly Wright. I also participate (with my team) in weekly conditioning clinics, which I love.
Clinics Recently Attended:
I am a great listener, a quick learner and will play any position my coaches place me in. I am working on my confidence levels and my assertiveness at this time.
Thank you for your consideration.
Michaela Peters - Stealth Fastpitch 16u
