Personal Statement
My name is Kaylin. I am a slapper and play middle infield but can play anywhere you put me. My home to home time is 11.57 seconds and my home to first time is 2.81 seconds. I first started playing softball when I was 4 but got my first bat and ball when I was two. I have fallen in love with the sport ever since. My passion for school, learning, and my sport continues to grow more and more. Softball teaches me so many things that I never thought it could, like being patient, having persistence, being a team player, and teaches me to be a better person. Softball is something I can count on and is always consistent in my life. Having that consistency while growing up was an amazing feeling. It has been a roller coaster but the best ride of my life. Growing and evolving with the sport is an incredible feeling. I want to play college ball, because I don't want to give up something I love and appreciate so much. I wouldn't be where I am today without softball, my family, my coaches, or friends. Ultimately, I would like to become an orthodontist and maybe have my own business one day. Ever since I got braces, this field has sparked an interest and stuck with me since. As Maya Angelou once said "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
