If you had told me 5 years ago, that today I'd be searching for a school to play collegiate softball for, I'd likely not have believed you because, up until then, I was training to be a classical ballerina! Heading into middle school I was lucky enough to discover this incredible game. I shared my interest with my mom and with all the enthusiasm in the world, we went to work in the backyard. We worked all fall & winter on basics and mechanics and in the spring of 2020, I attended my first college clinic... then the world shut down thanks to covid. With nothing but virtual middle school and time on my hands, I spent every waking moment I could with my glove, bat & softball bucket. As the restrictions eased throughout the next year, we found every opportunity we could to play softball, and in January of 2021, I found a club team and thus began my travel softball journey.
To say that this journey has been smooth sailing wouldn't be entirely accurate. As with all athletes, I've had my fair share of bumps in the road, but through it all, my love for the game of softball has only continued to grow. I've formed some of my greatest friendships and was blessed to be coached by the most impactful person in my life outside of my parents. Sadly, she lost her battle with cancer in early 2023, but the lessons I learned from her I hold closest to my heart. I play this game to honor her every time I step on the field.
Every challenge, every car ride, every clinic, every lesson, & every team I've played for has led me to form my fundamental truth for my approach to the game. I want to play the game that I love, with a team that I love, at a school that I love, for as long as I can. This game is a gift and it is my responsibility to take every lesson it offers and turn it into growth and progress.
I look forward to the process of finding the school, coach, and team that most align with my mentality, ability, and aspirations!
