Personal Statement
My love for the game started when I was 5 years old. Oddly enough I didn't even want to play softball, I wanted to be a basketball player. When I found out my mom signed me up for rec softball I cried. I didn't want this to inner fear with my basketball schedule. I will never forget when I stepped on the field for the first time looking like a little bobble head with my pink helmet and matching cleats I was scared. I didn't want to stand in the way of a ball getting thrown at me, and to make it worse I was big for my age so I had to skip right past t-ball and go straight to coach pitch. But when we had our first game and I got up to bat and made contact with the ball I fell in love with the game and never looked back. At the age of 6 I joined a travel team and have been on the same team since then. Now that scared little 5yr old is now the starting catcher as a freshmen for her high school varsity team. By playing softball it has taught me to face my fears head on and fight through it. To get to where I am today as a catcher, hitter, and all around player I give every practice and every game 110%. I plan on doing something in the medical field so collage is a must for me. My team and I volunteer a few times a year just to give back to the community. We have done simple things like beach clean ups to more detailed heart warming things such as raising money for Autism Awareness, adopt a family to help at Christmas time, Jacobs Shoes to help with restoring old shoes for those less fortunate, and much more. I feel it is an important part of my life to give back. Thank you for taking the time to check my profile out and I look forward to hearing from you.
