Personal Statement
Finding my love for softball was easy because my mom plays as well as my uncle and grandpa. I have always been around the sport so learning the game came pretty naturally. I started playing at 9 years old, however, there weren't enough girls to fill my team. Instead of waiting to play the following year my mom and I decided that I would play with the 12u team. I was both nervous and excited. I'm glad that we made that choice because I learned a lot and it gave me the desire to always strive to compete at a higher level. I ultimately found my fire and competitive nature when I tried out for a travel ball team after playing for only 2 seasons. The coaches were impressed but decided that I wasn’t quite ready and I didn’t make the team. Iwas heartbroken, but I decided then that I would work harder than ever so the next time I wouldn't have to feel that way. My hard work payed off and I made that team 2 seasons later! I'm a freshman so as of now, the highlights of my high school career are making the Varsity team and hitting my first homerun as a MHS Lady Panther! My goal is to continue to help my team to be successful and ultimately get a scholarship to play the game I love while getting an education.
I also have high expectations for myself in the class room! I am an honors student with a 3.625 GPA and plan to continue at that level or higher so that I can earn academic scholarships as well as the right to wear the honors robe at graduation.
So, to sum it up, I am a competitive natured person who strives to play and learn at the highest level and I look forward to the challenge both on the field and in the classroom.
