Makenzie Burnette...Personal Statement
My name is Makenzie Burnette. I am 16 years old and a (A Honor roll) junior at Lake Oconee Academy. I have been playing softball since I have 4 but have been playing consistently for about 6 consecutive years now. I have played middle and varsity softball for my school. I was a Varsity Starter all 3 years. I also have been on travel ball teams for about 4 years now.
I started pitching when I was 12 and I have been pitching for about 4 years now. I take weekly pitching and strength training lessons to continue to improve.
I would love to continue to expand on the significant role that softball has played in my life. The dedication I have shown to the sport and the fact that I improve daily at practice are two things that motivate me to play softball. I enjoy the challenge that softball offers me because no two games or practices are the same. I enjoy the challenge that I face on the mound each inning. It can be difficult to manage the playing area from inside the circle, but that's what I enjoy—the challenge.
