Personal Statement
Hello my name is Samantha Wolfe (Sam),I started playing softball at the age of 4 and travel ball at 8. My main goal has always been to compete in softball at the next level. Going into high school my main goal was to graduate on honor roll, and to play softball. My college goals are no different as I want to continue my education and play softball at the next level. So far, throughout my high school career I have placed 3rd as sophomore and 2nd as junior year in the state tournament. I believe my junior year I grew not only as a player but as a person. The summer leading into my junior season my team and my coaches had a sudden tragedy where we not only lost a friend and teammate, but our coach lost a daughter. From that day on I now look at everything in life from a different aspect. You are never guaranteed tomorrow. Every time I hit the field I play with a purpose. I have learned to always be there for everyone, speak up, and be a leader. Although we didn’t finish on top, that experience and journey has taught me more about life than I could have ever imagined.
The biggest thing that has gotten me to where I am today is my trust in God, support from my family and having a big heart and love for the game. I have known since a very early age that I wanted to go to college and play softball. Without a doubt I know I will work hard and be the player you can depend on. I have often wondered why girls complain about being at practice. I love it and look forward to it every day, I never dread going to practice. There is no place I would rather be than on a softball field. I know that I could immediately make a positive impact both academically and athletically to your program and would greatly appreciate any opportunity I was given.
