Catching footwork
Skills June 12, 2015September 9, 2012 changed my life for the better! Many who know me would say that is odd considering I broke my tibia sliding into third base and was placed in a full leg cast for 90 days. It took me not being able to play softball for over 4 months and a doctor uncertain of how quickly I would recover for me to overcome my fears. This experience both horrific and humbling, truly showed me what I'm made of. My values have grown stronger through this injury. I strive to give 100%, help others, be thankful, and learn from my mistakes.
I have always been passionate about playing softball but today I'm grateful I know I can overcome any challenge, barrier, or set back. The reason why I can overcome anything I am faced with is because I believe in myself and have a strong support system (my family and faith.) I love softball for so many reasons. I love practicing, the competitiveness, the crowd cheering, and most of all the ability to lead my team.
My 12u travel coach gave me the nickname "mouth" because I am known to motivate my team and show enthusiasm in my words. I often received the spirit award by my teammates. No matter what position I play or if I'm in the dugout I am constantly leading my team.
Academics are also important to me. I am an honor roll student and a dedicated student. Since I've completing my freshmen year in high-school , I have an interest in special education as either a special needs teacher or deaf educator. Whatever I decide I want to make a difference! My goal in life is to do my personal best as a student, athlete, and person. I look forward to whatever opportunities come my way. I am committed to bring heart and dedication to my team and look forward to playing softball at the college level someday.
