Leigha Luering Re...Softball has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up watching my older brother play baseball and wanted to be just like him. He played second base and was a pitcher. Baseball was a family sport. My dad always coached my brother's teams and as I began wanting to play, he started coaching my teams as well. I began playing when I was eight years old and never stopped. I played basketball as well but soon realized that softball was my number one sport and I wanted to devote all my time and energy to bettering myself as a player. Throughout my softball career I have played second base, short stop, and pitcher. My first love is pitching. It has taught me to work hard, focus, and never give up. I have had to overcome some injuries, and working my way back has helped me realize that hard work pays off.
The relationships I have built through softball have also taught me some life lessons. Friendships and relationships with teammates and coaches are essential. I am looking to play softball for a college where I can build those lasting relationships and play with teammates who have the same work ethic. I am looking forward to continuing my softball career.
