Sophia Cobos '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sophia Cobos and I am a 2006/18 year old, first year juco player at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. Im a Latina proud daughter of 2 amazing parents who have raised me into the player I am today. I'm also a starting shortstop and a utility player at heart as I can play anywhere in the infield such as 1st, 3rd, or 2nd, and 4,5,6 power hitter in the lineup. I played 4 years of varsity softball and was a captain my senior year at Rolling Meadows High School here in Illinois. I used to play for travel programs like Arlington Heights thunder, Palatine Stingrays, but my most recent was my fall travel season in 2023 with the Chicago Cheetahs. I was in a tough place at that time and didn't know what my heart wanted and was torn between college softball and my mental health. I thought I was burnt out, that it was the end of the road for me. Luckily, I decided to start my path on the juco route, preparing for a good season with Harper being a first year d2 juco. I know my journey can't stop now, that’s why I'm driven to work hard, and find my forever home. My current gpa is 3.53, and I'm heading in the direction of graduating next December from Harper. I will have completed all my required credits, but it all depends on where I can find my next home as well.
