Deanna King '23 Recruiting Profile

I'm a 2023 graduate from Scott County, Indiana. I am a  multi-sport,  high school athlete in varsity softball and varsity soccer. My passion is softball with my primary position as  catcher, and secondary position is third base and can play first base. I am currently playing 16U, A level  ball with my travel  team, Indiana Gators-Dillman. I started softball at the age of  six, and quickly learned that catching was something I have passion for.  Catching allows me to be part of every play, see the entire field, and  provide direction to my teammates to ensure the best coverage for the  upcoming play .   I am dedicated to my academics and my athletic development with the  goal of playing at the collegiate level. 

I enjoy increasing my  knowledge on and off the fields. I have been doing the Paging Program in  the Indiana State Capital for the last three years. The Paging Program  allows me to work side by side with state representatives within the  State of Indiana. This allows me to understand the political processes  within our government. I have also worked for  Trey Hollingsworth, a U.S. Representative, answering phone calls,  processing mail, and other duties for him in his Clark County, Indiana  office. The  opportunities and experiences within this community service work has  given me many skills such as communication, leadership, respect,  motivation, and responsibility. 

As I enter my Senior year, I look forward to communicating with prospective coaches. I am determined to find the most appropriate school for me and my future goals. I am determined to establish a  connection with a school, a coach, and the softball team by the end of the year if possible, so I can focus on my Senior year of school and prepare for a smooth transition to college.
