Dear Coach,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Jessica Rector and I live in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada where I will graduate Burnaby Mountain High in 2022. I am an honour roll with distinction student with a GPA of 3.5. I volunteer within the school helping the sport department as a referee, score table, organizing tournaments and coaching. I believe in giving back to my community to ensure athletes are getting the full development and opportunities within their high school experience. I was nominated for NFSH scholarship in 2020 as well as for the PE department scholarship 2021/2022. I am interested in majoring in sports science, however as I have many interests, I have not made my final decision.
My primary position is center fielder, and my secondary is pitching. At the plate I am a left-handed slapper, which I’ve received specific training for the past 4 years. I have been playing for 12 years with the last 5 in select ball. Some of my accomplishments as a softball player thus far is being the starting center fielder, leadoff batter, a threat on the base path and made top 24 for the team BC roaster this year.
As a pitcher I can throw a curveball, change-up, drop ball and fastball. My go to pitch is my drop ball.
I have been working hard to improve my hitting, fielding, pitching and my knowledge of the game.
Pacific Elite is my fall training program, and I will travel with the Synergy team this fall. My local team is Storm 04A. I have been very fortunate to have supportive coaches, teammates and my family who have helped me accomplish my softball goals.
Currently I am a multiple sport athlete playing volleyball, basketball, cross country as well as taking a weight training class. Fitness and conditioning is a big part of my life.
My dream is to get an education while playing collegiate softball. I would love an opportunity to discuss what I can bring to your club.
Sincerely, Jessica Rector
