Taylor Callow UTl...Hello! My name is Taylor Callow. I am from Lake Country, BC, Canada and currently in grade 11 at George Elliot Secondary. I play rep fastball with the Kelowna Heat U18 team and my goals is to obtain a position on a university softball team.
I started playing baseball when I was 5 years old and transitioned over to softball at the age of 14. Some of my highlights as a young athlete playing baseball was playing on the AA team in U11, U12, and U13 and as well as being selected on the Rutland Rockies AAA travel team, where we went to provincials in 2011. Making the AAA travel team was a big accomplishment as a 11 year old as well as being the only girl to participate in provincial championships.
I transitioned over to softball when I was 14 (2014) and played with the Kelowna Heat U14 B team. This was a great experience for me to play softball at a high level and learn the basic rules of softball. I played for the Kelowna Angles U16 for 2 years (2015, 2016) team and had the opportunity to be a guest player as catcher and fielder for the U18 Heat B team (2016, 2017) as well as being leadoff batter and starter as a underage player. I attended the Triple Crown: Las Vegas Showcase in October 2016, while I was participating in the individual portion of the showcase I had the opportunity to guest play with Coach Joe Price and the California Yard Sharks. As well I was selected for the U21 Team BC Women’s Baseball where we participated in 2017 Canadian Nationals, which we placed 4th.
Starting ball at a young age gave me the opportunity to learn how to be a team leader and the importance of working as a team. I am a multi-sport athlete and I strive to be the best I can be. Playing softball on a post secondary team would allow me to increase my skills and meet some incredible athletes who share the same passion for academics and athletics that I do.
