Personal Statement

Dear Coach,

My name is Teoni Lamb and I am currently a 3rd year Sophomore at Div 1 NJCAA Weatherford College, Texas where I am a starting pitcher. In 2022 was named in the All American NJCAA Academic Team with a 4.00 GPA and am now looking at moving onto a 4-year college for the Fall 2023 to complete my Junor and Senior years.

During my freshman year in 2021, I gained selection in the All-Conference 2nd team as well as the All-Academic team with a 4.0 GPA for the year.  At Weatherford as a Freshmen, I was one of the starting pitchers throughout the season and Coyotes finished in the top 3 at the Conference Tournament.

In 2022, I was used as both a starting pitcher as well as a closer, if needed. Coyotes finished in the top 3 at the Conference Tournament again. During the Conference Tournament I pitched a shutout against Ranger College along with closing down games with loaded bases.  Academically,  I completed my Assiociate Diplomia in Arts.

Over the past 12 months I have been working at increasing my velocity and at the recent U23 Australian National Tournament in December 2022 where I was selected to represent ACT, I was clocked at 101km during a game against East Texas Baptist University who were invited to participate.

I started playing T Ball when I was 4 years old and have loved Softball ever since. Playing softball at various levels has allowed me to develop my skills as a pitcher. I have represented my Association, Region, Sports Academy and State at various age groups. And have been selected in the Australian U17 and U18 squads before leaving Australia to attend Weatherford College in the fall of 2021.  One of my favourite memories was when my Regional team won the U15’s Australian National Championship on the same day that my older sister’s State team won U19’s National Championship in Perth, Western Australia.

Now that I am well into my sophomore year, I am looking at moving on to a 4-year college to complete my education and college softball career.

I thank you for taking the time to read this letter and look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours sincerely

Teoni Lamb

I pitched 4 out of the 6 games over the 2 days of competition and only conceded 1 un-earnt run in the semi-final after a catch was dropped in right field which allowed the runner on third to come home. • Camp/Event
  • NSW Academy Games
  • 4/19/19 to 4/21/19
  • The NSW Academy Games were held in Newcastle last week end. This is always a challenging tournament, with the best players between the ages of 15 to 17 years of age from around the state playing in regional academy teams. During the tournament, I pitched one full game against Southern Metro Academy which we won by a run rule in the 5th 8-1. We were undefeated in the round games and went straight through to the Grand Final. We started the final with another senior pitcher and were down 5-2 at the top of the third. I came in at the bottom of the third with loaded bases and tried to shut the runs down, however with an overthrow at second letting in 2 more runs, we finished with the loss 7-2. The tournament was a great place for me to practice my new screw ball that I have been working on with my pitching coach. To access a short clip from the final go to https://youtu.be/avgtz1F1POk
