Personal Statement
I have been playing softball since I was strong enough to hold a bat. As I played through t-ball and coach pitch, I quickly realized that softball was my favorite sport and something that I wanted to play all the way through college. My parents have always been supportive and told me that I had a gift when it came to playing softball so having an opportunity to play it in college would be both humbling and exciting.
I have always been a team first player. My personal stats are worthless if we are not winning games and I will do anything for the team if that means a W. If you asked my teammates, they would describe me as a grinder. I play hard and look for ways to improve my game, taking in any new info to make me a better player. I also have a tendency to get loud in the dugout, cheering on my teammates and doing what I can to help us win.
Academically, my grades and GPA are very high, something I am proud of. I participate in student council, serve as a peer tutor, and have volunteered at Camp Goodwill.
When it comes to college, I am looking for a school that will prepare me for my future outside of softball. Without that, none of this matters. Athletically, I want to play at the most competitive college that sees in me what I see in me; a hardworking, smart, grinder of a player that can contribute to a team's overall success. To me, that would be a dream come true.
