Personal Statement
My name is Shannon Finn, and I have a burning passion for athletics. I am a multi-sport athlete and highly competitive. I play as an outfielder and lead-off hitter at the varsity level as a left-hand slapper at Williamsburg High School in Iowa. I hope to one day carry my softball career to the collegiate level. Without softball, I would not be the person I am today. Softball has taught me to overcome adversity, give everything I have no matter the circumstances, and never give up. One thing that softball has helped me to build is a work ethic. I am willing to always put in the extra time to improve as an athlete and student. I am always ready to learn and try new things to get me to the next level. My academics and athletics are some of the most important things to me. I try to hold myself to a high standard and continue to set new goals that I can achieve with hard work and focus.
I am searching for a school where I can get the opportunity to form my future career path along with playing the sport I love. No matter what college I go to or who I compete for, I will give my all in both academics and athletics. Once I have finished my softball career, my dream would be to work in biology, forensics, criminal justice, or a field that combines my interest and study area.
