Personal Statement
My name is Reese Grady and I am part of the 2026 graduating class at Rock Creek High School in St. George, Kansas. I primarily play second base but I am versatile and can play multiple positions, including shortstop and all outfield positions. I became interested in playing softball at a very young age and my love for the game continues to grow. I work hard in the classroom and strive to maintain a 4.0 GPA.
While playing softball, I have learned that it takes lots of dedication and hard work. I am a good teammate and leader, with a positive attitude, who is willing to put in the work. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my skills, whether it’s going to extra hitting and fielding practices or working in the weight room. I am a coachable player and able to adapt to many different situations.
In the fall of 2021, I injured my right throwing shoulder and had labrum surgery in December. I was very dedicated to doing my physical therapy and got back to playing at four months post-surgery. I have experienced some setbacks, but have battled through them to keep going. Through individual work directed by throwing and hitting coaches, I am returning to 100%. After experiencing all of this, it has increased my interest in going into the medical field. I want to continue my softball career in college, while also pursuing a degree in Pre-Med.
