My name is Victoria Ralston. I am a 15 year old sophomore and a 2023 graduate of Riverside High School in Wathena, Kansas. I began playing softball when I was about five or six years old. My love for softball has grown over the years I have played. In my years of playing I have realized that it takes more than talent to be great. You have to be dedicated in order to be great because attitude is everything.
My positions are centerfield, leftfield, and two years ago I had started pitching. My GPA ranges from a 3.9 to a 4.0. I am always trying to better myself at home, school, or on the field. I want to be pushed academically and physically. I am a very coachable person and will play anywhere on the field if need be. I will always support my team even if they don't support me. I am a very positive person and I am always trying to make everyone smile.
My freshman season of softball had gotten cancelled due to COVID-19. I was very emotional because I had pushed myself so hard in order to make my coaches and parents proud. I was in softball training and I was in physical therapy to help with the soreness.
My middle school experience was rough on me by not having softball to keep my mind off of things going on around me and inside my head. I was not able to play softball throughout my junior high years because of the lack of volunteers to play for our county summer league. So the transition from slow pitch softball to fast pitch softball was difficult but I got the hang of it very quickly.
Since softball saved my life I have always dreamed of playing on a college team after I have graduated. I am hoping I can work hard enough to make that dream come true. Thank you.
