Alexis Blackwell '16 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals are to be all conference and bring back a title for the school I play for. I believe I am a  good candidate for your team because I honestly give my best effort in anything I am doing and will try anything and everything to make the team better as a whole. I think I am different from other recruits because I don't have an off season. I practice to be the best I can be all year long. I strive to better myself for my team and I bring my teammates  to go hit with me or throw whenever it is possible. I always have the desire to be in the cage, whether it is after a bad day or the best day of my life, hitting in general is something I believe I do well. My character, I believe, is different from many others. I like to go to church and help people in need. I go on a mission trip every summer to various small towns to repair and repaint houses for those who are in need. I like to lift people up and make them laugh. I believe I have come a very long way in athletics, I came in as a freshman behind a junior catcher that I sometimes pinch hit for. My freshman year I started in four games one of which I hit a walk off three run home run against our rival and the other I hit a grand slam against a team in our district. I ended my freshman year with second team all district. My sophomore year I remained the starting catcher and hit six over the fence home runs, finished with a batting average of 485 just in district. I also achieved an honor of being first team all district.  Two of the six home runs were against all state pitchers. I believe I will do nothing but get better this upcoming season for junior year. Another thing I work very hard for is my academics. I like to stay on top of my grades. I maintain a high grade point average and do very well in school. I'm a good student and I study very hard to reach my goals. I believe I'm very different from your recruits in many ways I hope to be able to prove them to you in the future.
