Personal Statement
My name is Emma Burnham, I have been playing softball for 11 years and field hockey for 5 years. Sports have taught me many things but the most important thing I have learned is leadership skills, I use them on and off the field. Being part of a team has also taught me the meaning of commitment and teamwork. I am looking for a college that best fits me both academically and athletically. As far back as I can remember I have always strived to play softball in college. My dad is one of my biggest fan, he is the reason I loved the game my whole life. In order for me to be my best my dad has spent countless hours on trying to help me improve my skills whether sitting on a bucket while I pitched to him , or taking me to a field so I can improve my footwork defensively and perfecting my swing offensively. I am a sophomore at Bonny Eagle High School during my freshman year I started on the varsity Softball team as a pitcher and utility player and during the fall of my freshman season I was the starting center mid for the varsity field hockey team.
My grades have always been the most important to me. My freshman year I made highest honors with all honors classes all year including a foreign language and was awarded a certificate of scholastic achievement. My goal is to continue to keep my grades at the highest level throughout high school and college. I will continue to strive to reach my goal through out my high school career and take what I learn and apply it to college.
