Do you remember your first memory in softball? I do. I was watching my moms boyfriend play softball in a game, and i was always watching. It wasn’t until the third grade where I was very vocal that I wanted to play softball. I started off small just playing in club leagues. I was so proud to wear my jersey to school and say I had a game later that day. Middle school is where my desire to play in more teams and get better kicked in. I would ask my mom to find me teams during different seasons, and we would find clinics where I could get extra work in. Unfortunately my middle school didn’t have a softball team, so i was only doing club, but I knew i wanted to keep doing more and training. In highschool I found out about travel ball, but then the world shut down and all the leagues closed off. I still practiced, throwing a tennis ball against the house to improve the way I threw, and hitting the ball off the tee. Once the world opened back up I did as much softball as I could. I did club, travel and school. It was a lot of work but I didn’t care. I had fun doing it, even if i was training almost 7x a week. That’s when I knew I wanted to do college softball. I trained and trained and I still do hoping to continue on my athletics. What would I do once I graduate? I want to become an educator, and while working with children I would love to coach a softball team for young girls. Teaching and softball are both my passions and to be able to play the game longer and help girls train and give them insight on what I did would be amazing.
