Personal Statement
Softball has always been a part of my life since I was little. Ever since I watched girls playing on the college fields, I have been pushing myself to develop the skills necessary for that caliber. Playing at the collegiate level is a goal of mine. I believe that it could provide my unique life experiences as a student and an athlete. These experiences will be building blocks towards my future.
I am a team leader and try to model by example along with encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and bring positive energy to the bench every game. I strive to be one of the hardest working players you will find. I believe I have more success on the field when I balance my focus on the game and while having positive interactions with my teammates.
In the classroom, I also put school first and push myself to achieve a higher GPA. I am currently a member of our student government and marching band. The 2020 softball season I was going to be an official varsity player on DeWitt’s softball team. During my freshman year, I balanced my playtime between the JV and Varsity teams. This allowed me to get game experience as a pitcher playing on JV and knowledge at the Varsity level as a designated player and backup pitcher.
I want to attend a college where I can pursue my dreams of playing softball and focus my studies on photography. I also want a college where I can push myself in a classroom along with on the field. I am open to all the options that are presented to me. I want to find the right college fit at the highest level of competition. I hope to become a great role model to my peers and the younger players in my community. I believe my successes will make my parents proud and help me to further advance into a successful lifelong career.
