When I have an interest in something, I pursue it with a passion. When I was I was 13 I decided I wanted to have an income, so I started my own business making Petoskey Stone jewelry. I educated myself on tumbling and polishing stones, and jewelry making methods. I setup a booth at many festivals, created an online presence, and successfully secured shelf space at many local businesses. By year two I was making more money with my business than I was working 40 hours a week over the summer, which I continued to do anyway. I approach softball the same way. I started pitching lessons when I was 10 and I haven't stopped yet. I made the varsity team when I was in the 8th grade, and was very disappointed when COVID destroyed our season. The next year, in 9th grade, I was lead pitcher for our varsity team, and have been ever since. I work hard in the off season with travel ball and evening training sessions with my softball coaches, one of whom is my Dad.
I would love to see these two passions come together in college where I can play softball and get a business degree.
