My name is Kaitlyn Barr, and I am a junior at Grosse Pointe North High School, located in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. I want to major in Aerospace Engineering. Softball has already offered me so many amazing opportunities, including opportunities with many different coaches, and meeting lifelong friends. My goal is to play softball at the college level, and I am not concerned of the division level, but I want to play at a level that will push me to become a better player. I am willing to push myself, and always put in the work to become a better athlete. While I do want to play softball at what will be a challenging collegiate level for me, I also want a school who has strong academics, especially in the programs I am looking into. Throughout my years of schooling I have always challenged myself with difficult classes. Currently I am taking all honor and AP classes, and have a leadership position for our school paper which has caused me not only to struggle, but to be faced with so many new things as well. I believe that the only way to get better at something is by challenging, and pushing yourself. I think this is the reason why I find softball so appealing. Softball is not an easy game, and it requires a lot of time, and effort, put in both on and off the field, to succeed. It’s a game that requires proper timing, and small adjustments to make things work.
