Isabella Smith '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

I wanted to give you some more information about myself.  My goal is to play collegiate softball and continue my education in hopes of one day becoming a pediatric nurse.  I have played travel softball for the past four years.  I currently play on the Kalamazoo Kings 16U Abnet White team where we are ranked #1 in the state of Michigan and 17th nationally.   We are super excited to be playing at the USSSA NationaIs in Melbourne, Florida this summer.  I play 2nd base for my travel team and short stop for my high school team.  Due to COVID, I have only had one high school season where I earned All-Conference, All-District and Academic All-State.  I also ran track during this time and was the 200M Regional Champion.  I was not able to compete at the state level due to softball Districts being scheduled on the same day.

During the winter season, I play travel volleyball for Dead Frog VBC on the 17 Black National team.  Our high school volleyball team has won two State Championships and I received All-Conference, All-District, All-State and Academic All-State Honors.    

Playing sports is such an important part of my life.  I love it ! Playing both travel softball and volleyball has given me the opportunity to make lifelong friends and travel to places that I may never have had the opportunity to otherwise.   Being part of a team has taught me so many things athletically, mentally and socially already.   I hope to grow and continue that at the next level.

High school has been a little differently lately, but we are still trying to make the best of it.  We aren't sure if we will be able to have prom, but as a representative of the Student Senate and my class Secretary we are doing our best to be prepared for it.  Academically, I am a member of the Floyd Lock National Honor Society and carry a 3.82 GPA.   I am in the top 10 and have had High Honors all year.  Thanks for reading and let me know if you need anything further.
