AMANDA KARAS '13 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing fast pitch softball since the age of 8. I have never had any special training and played rec ball, for fun for four years. As I got older, I felt I needed to move away from rec ball so that I could develope at a higher level. I entered into travel ball as a 12 year old, trying out for teams that 14 years old played on. I attened 5 tryouts and of the 5 teams 4 teams called me to offer me a starting position. The team I chose (Macomb Thunder) I was the lead off batter and played short, beating out a 14 year old. I went on to bat 275 that season. I have been told I have natural instinct on the field and that I am very coachable. I play hard and always strive to be the best player that I can be. I have had no professional training, but have attened softball camps, such as Anchor Bay highschool camps. I worked with Coach Perkins with my batting skills one on one. I would like to play softball through highschool and then in college.
