Personal Statement
Softball has been in my life for as long as I can remember in one form or another. I started fast pitch softball when I was in third grade or around the age of 9. Otherwise, before I started that I still always had a ball in my hand, I started out with t-ball and then grew into near-ball then finally was asked to join my town's fastpitch team. Ever since then, I have been hooked. As of right now, I have been playing softball for roughly six years, which includes a summer season, a fall season up until about 2 years ago, and a winter program the last 4 years with my high school varsity team. I want to play in college because of the love I have for the game. I fell in love with the game the moment I stepped out onto a field, the adrenaline you get during close games, or the surge you get when you make a game-saving play. I want to be able to play as long as possible and playing in college helps me fulfill that. Another big reason I want to play in college is being able to create a second family with my teammates. That camaraderie that you can establish with your teammates can become something so tight that it becomes unbreakable. I've been fortunate enough that each team I play for has grown up together and has become a family and we can all rely on one another for anything we need. I'm currently in tenth grade at Jordan High School and am ranked 22 out of 144 students. I have a 3.813 cumulative GPA and am taking two advanced classes plus honors. I hope to graduate with honors and go one to pursue college while playing softball. I plan to study exercise science, earn my bachelors degree and then go into a PT program to later become a certified physical therapist and help people.
