My name is Haeli Wheeler and I am a 5’8” right-handed third basemen, first basemen, and pitcher. I currently do not play for an organization due to an injury that has not healed since this past summer of 2020. I am a Senior for an online high school, Excel High School (Plymouth, Mn). My freshman year, and part of the first semester of my sophomore year, I went to a private school, Illinois Lutheran (Crete, Illinois).I was a starting varsity third baseman and pitcher for my high school my freshmen year. For my travel team, I primarily play first base, third base, and I am a pitcher but I will always play where my team needs me the most. When it comes to any team that I play for, I love having personal relationships with my teammates and coaches. I believe if my teammates can trust me off the field, they can trust I will have their back on the field.
I am always striving the be not only the best athlete, but person, I can possibly be. I love helping others and giving back. During my free time, when the recreational softball season starts, I will help coach younger teams. I also give pitching lessons to a few younger girls in the recreational league as well. When I am not playing softball or doing my school work I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading, painting, and watching Disney plus. Another thing that I love to do during my free time is volunteer for an organization, Lincoln-way Special Rec Association. This is an organization that host events and has sporting teams for not only kids, but adults as well, with special needs.
When I go to college, it is important for me to have small-medium class sizes. I also find it important that, if i do struggle in the classroom, I will receive the help I need to keep my grades up. Playing collegiate softball has been a dream of mine since I was little. My love for the game has grown so much over the years and I wish to continue my athletic career for as long as possible. Softball has formed me into the person I am today but I know that furthering my education in college will help prepare me for the real world that comes after it.
Thank you!
