Personal Statement
Softball found me in 1st grade, and I have never looked back. This game has taught me how I should carry myself on and off the field. I have always wanted to be someone people can depend on, I feel that softball has made me that person! Playing middle infield and catcher you have to be one of the most dependable and consistent players on the field. I want my team/friends to feel like "Ohh no worries, Sam's got this!" My personal experience has taught me that softball isn't just a physical sport, but a strategic mental game as well. I bring a high softball IQ and a get it done attitude, I want to be on the field and I want to contribute to your team.
I am looking forward to extending my softball career past high school. I am not done learning and growing from this game. College softball will bring many more challenges and experiences, and I am ready to hit them head on. I know that being an athlete makes me a better student, I commit the same drive and determination into my school work as I do on the field and have held an A/B+ average my entire high school career. I hope to pursue a degree in psychology with an emphasis in criminal behavior.
I am grateful that I get to play, share my skills and throw my personality in there from time to time. I have highlights and low points during my time playing, but for me its all about the next out. I try not to dwell on victory or defeat. I move forward. "Winner's make adjustments, loser's make excuses." I enjoy my team mates, the coaches and I love the competition! If we are a good fit, I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
