Personal Statement
My name is Alexa Pelzel and I am from Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. I am currently attending Sleepy Eye St. Mary's Junior/Senior High School. I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old. It has always been a dream of mine to become a successful college level student athlete. At an early age I learned how important communication, leadership, and commitment is to a team and their success. When I am not practicing or playing on a field, I am practicing throwing and hitting drills in my back yard any chance that I can. During the Spring/School season, I play for the St. Mary's Knights, and during the summer and fall seasons I play for Sleepy Eye's ASA team. I am primarily a catcher, but also play second base, or any other position that my team or coaches need me to play. Playing softball has always been a huge part of my life, and the field is a place I feel I can call home. My teammates and the relationships we have developed throughout the years we've played together has increased my love for the game.
My goal is to be able to continue playing softball in college while pursuing a college education in Engineering or Architecture.
