My name is Bailey Erlandson and I have played softball for almost a decade now and have loved it ever since I started.
I fell in love with this sport, because it gives me a way to turn my goals and dreams into reality. I am a very driven student, athlete, and person and am always looking for new ways to expand my horizons and become the best possible version of myself that I can be. I hope to continue this path in college and hope to continue to have this mindset throughout the rest of my softball career. I can't imagine my life without softball in it and playing in college is the next step for me.
While I am primarily an outfielder, I am very adaptable to playing and learning new positions. On my high school team I am our starting shortstop, because my coach needed me there and I have learned to play both the infield and the outfield to the best of my abilities. I love both positions, because every chance I get, I dive. I love to make plays that exceed my own expectations of what I can do as an athlete. I like to know that I lay out all my hard work and my effort on the field each and everyday and hope to do so in college.
I guess the thing that makes me different than most players is my intensity and my perseverance. Softball is a sport of failure and I have failed many times throughout my softball career and life in general. No matter how many mistakes I make, I know that these mistakes just get me closer to my next success. I use these challenges and learn from them in order to not only make myself a stronger and more disciplined athlete, but a better and more considerate person on and off the field.
In college I hope to study Kinesiology/Exercise Science. The human body has so many secrets that need to be unlocked and I want to tread new paths into understanding how the human body and sports mix together. I also am considering studying Pre-Physical Therapy and hope to go onto graduate school in this same area of study.
Softball has given me so many great experiences and opportunities that I wouldn't trade for anything and I hope to make new memories and have more experiences that continue to shape me as a person when I get to college. Thank you for your time and I hope you have a good day!
