My name is Briana Cacchio. I am predominantly a third baseman, but I am capable of playing a variety of positions as per my team needs. I started my athletic career playing baseball and switched to softball when it was time to take my abilities to the next level. Since then, I’ve been competing in the New Jersey Venom softball organization. While my forte is third base, I have been called to play shortstop on several occasions. I have mastered the ability to make game time decisions at such a young age. I read game situations and base runners well, and am able to execute fast-paced plays on the fly. Offensively, I have become a consistent power hitter, who often comes through with timely hits. One of my biggest accomplishments is being promoted to a highly competitive team while being the youngest player on the field. My output and abilities over the last couple of years have earned me the opportunity to be selected as the youngest player in our most prominent team in the organization, an accomplishment I’m proud of.I continue to work religiously on my individual skills both in and during the off season. I seek individual instruction to enhance my footwork, glove work, and hitting capabilities. In addition, I am currently weight training and working on speed/agility a few days a week. I am a dual athlete who focuses on softball but uses basketball as an opportunity to enhance my physical fitness and interaction with others. Through my tenure in athletics I have been dedicated, reliable, and humbled. Coaches that have worked with me utilized my leadership skills. While keeping up with school and putting it as top priority, my handles and skills are developing to a more advantageous level. I am constantly putting time and effort into advancing my skills. While attending Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School, I received the scholar athlete award. This award celebrates my accomplishments in the classroom as well as athletics/sportsmanship on the field. In conclusion, I am excited to start my journey in high school. I look forward to working with NCSA to further my academic and athletic career.
