My collegiate goal is to get an outstanding education at a University that is unquestioned in its' academic reputation while significantly contributing to a successful, competitive, winning softball program. I believe I have the skills, ability, and discipline to find the correct balance between athletic achievement and educational excellence. Academically I have challenged myself going into my junior year with a mix of Honors and AP courses, maintaining a good GPA while participating in Varsity Softball. I intend to major in Occupational Therapy. Outside of High School I have focused a great deal of time around competitive travel softball. However, I made sure that I have time for my academics as well as dedicating my time volunteering for children with disabilities in a rehabilitation center and participating in multiple clubs in Marlboro High School, such as Peer Leadership, Alopecia Club, Special Strides, and Make a Wish Foundation.
I believe one of my best individual strengths is my ability to focus and work on personal game prep skills while being open to training and game tips from teammates and coaches. My brother verbally committed to Philadelphia University to further his academic and baseball career and was the first person to encourage me to become a softball player at the age of six years old. As an infielder and outfielder I am able to communicate with my fellow teammates on places to be by being able to judge the hitter. I pride myself on my defensive infield and outfield skills with good range and footwork to the ball. Offensively, I have a great eye at the plate, with quick hands to complement my swing. I have excellent speed that I combine with good base running which initiates extra base opportunities and base stealing chances. I am confident in my abilities and trust that my character will be a cornerstone that your softball program can build on. I would encourage you to contact my coach Jean Ruppert, an outstanding former TCNJ Coach and current teacher/coach at Steinert High School. Thank you for your time.
