My name is Athena Brock-Murray, I am a high school senior attending Arts High School majoring in dance in Newark New Jersey. I have played varsity softball for 4 years but I have been playing in North Newark Little League for 6 years.
What makes me different from other recruits is I am 100% committed and determined to better my craft. I am an utility player which’s gives me a one up on other players, because I can play any position on the spot other than catcher and a little bit of pitching.
Academically I am able to juggle my school work and athletic life. Having a set schedule or knowing somewhat of how my day to day schedule will go allows me to plan softball and school.
Lastly, I am a good team player and always willing to learn but also help others. Since playing in the recreational league it has taught me to play with girls who may have never played before, but also play with girls who are above my skill level. All this to say, playing with people of different skill levels motivates me to do and be a better player
