My name is Mackenzie R. Scott and I am currently a Junior at Pemberton Township High School in New Jersey. I plan to graduate in 2020. For the past two spring seasons, I have been a Varsity starter on the Pemberton Township Softball Team. I have been playing Softball for nine years and Travel Softball for the past four years. I have played Travel Softball with the Central Burlington Knights, The Riverside Tiderunners, and New Egypt All-Stars. I currently play for a team out of Cookstown, NJ that plays for the Babe Ruth League. This past summer, my team and I (New Egypt All-Stars) took 4th place in the Babe Ruth World Series in Treasure Coast, Florida.
This year is the most important year of my high school career. This year I took my PSAT's for the third time and I am excited to see the results. I try my best on the field and in the classroom. I put in a lot of time and work ethic towards anything I put my mind to. This year from maintaining a 3.2 or above average, I am eligible to apply for National Honors Society. I am a very coachable player who can adapt to any position you play me in. I am very eager to get better everyday and will practice as much as possible to better myself.
I am a solid Utility player except for catcher. Although I am 5'2 and weigh 110 pounds, I have improved my pitching speed and accuracy by using my legs. I am a fast runner and I am a smart base-runner. The most important aspect of Softball to me is your attitude. I am always smiling and picking up my teammates when they are getting discouraged. I believe that a good attitude will lead you to a proficient performance in games and practices. I am looking forward to going to college camps and receiving advice from other softball coaches and I am also excited to continue my experience by going to a College/University that will allow me to be who I am on the field and who I am in the classroom.
