I began playing softball in 1st grade. When I started playing I played 3rd base but as grew I became a catcher. My first season as a catcher was the spring season in 5th grade. At that time I played for my town travel team the Voorhees Villains. I made my middle school team as a catcher in 6th grade and was the starting catcher throughout middle school. Once I got to high school I traveled with varsity freshman year and now, in my sophomore year I play on the varsity team. I currently play on the showcase team the New Jersey Mystics McGrath Gold as their starting catcher. One thing softball has taught me is the strength of being on a team. Also the amount of effort that you put into the game, it will pay off and give you a reward. My coaches and team mates have taught me a lot through the years and I would love to continue that into college!
