My name is Samantha Sawyer. I am currently a sophomore at Alexander High School in Western New York State. I understand the value and importance of a great education, however, along with attaining that, I also want to continue enjoying and competing in the game I love. Softball. I have played many sports from a young age. I have been a gymnast, a soccer player, a basketball player, a volleyball player, and of course a softball player. Softball is my passion. I have learned to appreciate the value of personal strength and fitness from my dad being the Physical Education teacher and long time head football coach at my school. I am comfortable in the circle as a pitcher, but also spend a lot of time as an outfielder for my travel team. The New York Inferno. I currently play for Chuck Righetti in the 16u showcase team. As far as high school, I have been a starter on varsity since 7th grade. I have been selected as Genesee Region Player of the Year as an 8th grader. My freshmen year was limited by an injury. Missing some time from the game has only stoked my desire to be even better! I value my academics as much as my athletics as my GPA stands at a 4.0. Since about 5th grade I had always wanted to be a physical therapist, and my goals have really not changed since. I love to help people and put others, or teammates, before myself. I am very optimistic for my future and what it holds.
