From age 9, I have had aspirations of playing softball at the collegiate level. I have been playing on my club travel team, TC Futures since 10U. I go to John Jay High School in Cross River, New York and I am currently playing on the the Varsity High School team as an 8th grader. My primary position is Catcher. My secondary position is third base and I will play first base or outfield as needed. I usually bat 3, 4, 5.
I am currently taking honor role classes; Algebra and Earth Science in 8th grade and have been on the Honor Roll throughout Middle School. I plan to take a high level of academic prepatory classes in High School. I also enjoy supporting the community and participating in various volunteer programs.
As a player athlete, I work hard at every aspect of the game. I have learned to frame, block and call a game at a young age. I believe I have a strong IQ for the game of softball. I have a strong bat swing, exit velocity and a strong arm. I play the corner infield positions well with a solid glove. However, the most important component in softball is to continue to hone your skills, improve and raise the level of your playing ability. I am committed to that process. I think as a Catcher, I have especially learned tough character skills on and off the field. There is no room for any player attitude and only hard working players will be rewarded and achieve results. I also believe its the ultimate importance of supporting your teammates, being a leader and strong role model to my peers.
I hope to attend a great college where I can study the areas of my interests. Currently, I am interested in architecture and engineering. I also hope to play in a great softball program at college. I love the game of softball and want to continue to play as it has been such a huge part of my life! I love the sportsmanship and kinship one receives through a sports program.
