My name is Skylar Mysliborski. I am 5’4 and a half inch tall short stop from Greenport, New York; a small village on the north fork of Long Island. I will graduate in the class of 2023. I am a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which took me nine years to achieve, starting at age 4. I was asked to be the starting point guard for my high school varsity basketball team, when I was in eighth grade. I continue to enjoy and play basketball for my school. Most importantly, I play in a travel softball league for “The Long Island Express”. I am the starting Short Stop for the team, and am also able to play other infield positions, as well as outfield.
Ideally, I would love to experience a large campus, with a great sports filled culture, and a very welcoming and beautiful atmosphere. I am interested in the possibility of attending school near to or on the west coast. Washington, Oregon, Arizona, are just a few examples. I am very open to going anywhere around the country, as long as it is a good fit academically and athletically. Financial assistance is a must have, and would be greatly appreciated. I would love to find a school, where I can contribute and grow as a student athlete, early on, in my college softball career.
Academically, I have thought long and hard about the areas that I am interested in pursuing. My passion is in all areas of college sports; from stats, to the chemistry of the college teams and their specific players, down to the equipment and apparel. I am extremely interested in learning about sports management. Sports Media and marketing are also a big part of that. Another major area of interest is criminal justice. At this time, I am keeping my options open when it comes to choosing a college major.
What can I offer a team, in order to play at the highest level possible? The sense of discipline, determination, and integrity that I learned through martial arts, and my family, have been a great foundation for my success in sports, and in life. What I will always offer a team is hard work and steady results. My instincts always have me cheering on my teammates. Support is important both on and off the field. Every time I even think about softball, my eyes light up and I get super excited to go out and play. I always give it everything that I have, and more.
