Hello my name is Dylan Lane. I am a junior, class of 2021, at Red Hook High School in Red Hook, New York. I started playing softball for Hyde Park little league when I was 7 and played for the town, including the all-star team until I was 10 and we moved to Newburgh, New York. I then started to play for the Town of Newburgh. I played there, during the regular, all-star, and fall seasons until I was 13. I joined my first travel team, The Ulster Fillies, when I was 10. I moved to The Mid-Hudson Rebels travel team the next year and have played on there 12u, 14u, and 16u team since the switch. I started out as a catcher, grew to love it, and am the main catcher for my travel team. Throughout the years I have learned to play other positions and play third base and short stop for my school team. My middle school years were spent at a catholic school, Bishop Dunn Memorial School, which is why I did not play on a school team until I moved to Rhinebeck N.Y. for eighth grade. In eighth grade I played for Rhinebeck High School's modified team as a catcher and a third baseman. I only spent one year in Rhinebeck , New York and moved to Red Hook, New York for high school. Freshman year I started off my softball season as a swing player, moving from JV to varsity. By the end of my freshman season I moved up to varsity permanently and have been the starting catcher ever since. Throughout all of my moves and school transitions, I have learned that I fit in most on the field. I have dreamed about playing college softball and I hope in my near future that dream will come true.
