Hello, I am Jessica Valcarcel and I am a student at Curtis High School playing 2 varsity sports. (softball, Swimming). I would love to work in the medical field, as a nurse, or I would love to do something involving sports medicine. I would love to go to college and play the sport I have loved since I was 8 years old. I am an honor student and I am in the nursing program in my high school. I also take IB and AP classes as well. I take school very seriously and I always work hard to understand new topics and be the best that I could be. I volunteer my time every year with my family and we go out and feed veterans. I also volunteered at an animal shelter for around a year not too long ago.
On the field, I am always trying to lift my teammates up and help them do their best even if they are having a bad game. I learn from my own mistakes by practicing, asking another player, or asking the coach how I can improve. I find myself trying to be the best I could be by doing tee work and looking up new drills that I could do. I am known for always doing the splits at first base and doing crazy stretches! I primarily play outfield and first base but I always love trying new positions and I am open to anything. I love trying new things and learning new positions. Even though I continued to play travel, my freshman year softball season for high school was unfortunately canceled due to covid but hopefully, I get to play my sophomore year.
