Madison Esmond '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Madison Esmond and I will be starting my Sophomore year at Kenmore East High School in the Fall of 2019 where I will continue to play Softball and Basketball. I plan on attending college after high school, my educational interests include Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Education and Business.

I started to play softball with my Dad in the back yard when I was little, that lead to playing Rec league softball from ages 5-8.  I fell in love with the game and started to play travel softball at the age of 8.  I currently play for the Amherst Lightning Travel Softball Orginization where play 2nd base and Outfield.  For the last 3 years I have been trained as a slap hitter to take advantage of my speed to give my team the competitive advantage of scoring first.  

For the past couple of years I have trained weekly to help improve my game.  Weekly hitting lessons with my hitting instructor as well as speed and agility training have helped me improve as a softball player.  The highlight of my young softball career was trying out and making the USSSA Northeast All American team that competed in Florida in 2018 against other teams from all over the United States.

I plan to work hard in the class room and on the softball field to pursue my dream of playing softball in college while earning my degree.
