Personal Statement
I am a 5'8" athlete that loves to improve on and off the field. I have played soccer, basketball, softball and I just started track and field this past season. I am very passionate about anything I do especially sports.
I have played Victor Blue Devil basketball for 3 years, softball for 3 years and currently getting ready for my first Varsity season. I have been part of Travel softball for 6 years. In 2021, I was honored with making the Greater Rochester First Team (one of very few infielders just pitchers and catchers get this honor) and Monroe County First Team.
The highlights of my softball career have been 15+ home runs, 3 MVP medals and winning records for all seasons played. My hitting coach tells me all the time that any pitcher who knows who I am should NEVER pitch me over the plate.
I often struggle in school because of learning disabilities caused by prematurity. I have to work harder than most. Presently, my IEP is under review to find better teaching and learning styles so I can do even better in school. My academic improvement is important to me because I am seriously thinking about becoming a special education teacher or physical therapist to help kids like me in the future.
I would prefer a smaller rural/suburban collegiate setting. I am open to anywhere in the US if you offer my major and a competitive softball team. I would consider schools in any Division. I do not like to limit myself -- sometimes different will surprise you.
Coaches have been very influential to me both good and bad but I hope that I have become a better player for the experiences. Coaches have taught how to try harder and always put extra effort into the sport that you love. Recently, I lost a coach that showed me how to truly love a sport and become the best player I can be. I think about him when things get tough. He would always say before a game to "Embrace the Moment" I will live by those words every day for the rest of my life.
